Sayel Basel was conferred the Prof. S. Sampath Gold Medal by Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) at its recently held 36th Annual Convocation for securing distinction in M.A. Economics.
Sayel Basel, son of Mr Sunil Basel and Mrs Usha Basel hails from Singamari, Darjeeling. An alumnus of St. Robert’s Higher Secondary School, Darjeeling, Sayel completed his 10th standard in the year 2010 and higher secondary education in 2012 from St. Robert’s School. He then went on to pursue his higher studies at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, where he received his BSc in Economics in the year 2015 and M.A in Economics in 2017 with a distinction.
He firmly believes it was the love, support, and guidance of his guru Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba that kept him going in the right direction. He humbly dedicates this token of appreciation of his, at his lotus feet and at the lotus feet of his parents, whom he says, has been a perennial source of encouragement and inspiration.
He is currently pursuing his PhD. in Economics in SSSIHL.
