It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that Gorkha FC (formerly GYASA FC) is participating in the 11th ONGC Tamchon Football Tournament, being held from Nov 18 to 02 Dec at the Ambedkar stadium, New Delhi.
Now in its 11th edition, Tamchon trophy is a prestigious tournament, featuring teams from different regions and communities from the North-East. The tournament is a huge opportunity for players from the region to showcase their talents at a national level, and even get selected and thus have an opportunity to play for professional clubs across the country. Players and teams from different parts of the NorthEast region have been camping in Delhi during the month-long tournament and team practice.
This is the first time any Gorkha team has been extended an invitation to participate in the tournament and we are fielding the best players we can. We had reached out to clubs, players, and individuals across all Gorkha Communities in different parts of the country. We are reaching out to you to seek support and help for the event. We also hope that you will help us to spread the message and build support for the team.
We all in dire need of funds to meet all the expenses for the team (details in the link below). Responding positively to our request, the Gorkha Welfare Centre (GWC) Delhi has accommodated a few players in their dormitory. Share FC, a Kalimpong based club has released a few players to play for Gorkha FC. We also have many other good Samaritans like you who are extending their support.
We will be happy to answer any question or concern you may have regarding the tournament and Gorkha FC.
