Happy New Year!!!

Wishing you all a very happy and joyous New Year.

2017 has been a tough year for all of us. It wasn’t joyful nor happy for many reasons for we witnessed chaos, conflict, violence, dominance, murders, grave injustices and extreme human rights violations right at our door steps. Unfortunately, we also experienced yet another crushing down of our dream for a separate state of our own – Gorkhaland – at the hands of the State Government – more violent, more intense and more cruel this time around.

But then, 2017 also witnessed a rare display of our people coming together, leaving their differences aside, as a collective (however, temporary they were) for the bigger cause of Gorkhaland and against the gross atrocities perpetrated by the State machinery. After a long hiatus, we saw our political parties projecting a united front, but followed by immediate co-optation of the same under the divisive, clever, praiseworthy strategies employed by the State.

We witnessed how power, the lure for money, fear tactics, successfully used by the State on our people, particularly on those already in the political space, completely hijacked our unity by sowing and deepening the seeds of differences and animosity among us. Some have succumbed to these, while some are still resisting.

But however brutally our struggle (to dream of a dignified life through the creation of a separate State of our own within the Constitution of India) have been supressed by the State, we have survived 2017 and have NOT STOPPED from aspiring to struggle for the realisation of Gorkhaland. This way we have kept the hope of Gorkhaland alive.

This was possible only because of you all, so please keep your struggles and the hope for a better tomorrow on. Let us continue to fight tooth and nail for a life that we value living, a life of free will with no fear, a life of dignity, respect and pride

As we enter 2018, we salute our people for their unimaginable strength and endurance against the divisive, dominating and neferous State and their dummy-stooges.

Let us consciously keep in mind the 13 precious lives that were taken by the State, their surviving families, those still suffering in jails including all those who have fallen victim at the hands of the State for raising their voice for Gorkhaland and against all forms of injustice.

Let us welcome 2018 praying (and asking) God to keep their blessings and protection on us. Let us seek strength to carry on this unfinished task of achieving Gorkhaland with sincerity, determination and prudence. Let us continue to keep dreaming and believing in Gokhaland.

Jai Gorkha. Jai Gorkhaland.
