Researchers Meet at Salesian to Share Ongoing Research on North Bengal and Sikkim


Salesian College Sonada organized its 17th Research Scholars Workshop on 9th December 2017 on the theme ‘Sharing Research Experiences’. Welcoming the participants, Fr. Dr. George Thadathil, Principal, Salesian College Sonada and Siliguri, and also the Convener of the workshop, said that the workshop is an endeavor to provide a platform where local researchers and researchers from outside get an opportunity to come together and share the ongoing research on North Bengal and Sikkim.

Professor Silajit Guha from Sikkim University delivered the key note address where he highlighted the fundamental problems of social science research. The workshop was attended by research scholars and young faculty members from different parts of the country.

“The workshop was very productive. We could exchange information among us and also explore prospects for future collaboration and cooperation”, said Deepika Gahatraj, Research Scholar from JNU. “I am presently preparing my synopsis and workshop was very helpful to me in a sense that I received lots of critical feedbacks and suggestions from experienced researchers present there”, said another young scholar, Ugyal Lama Yolma from Jadavpur University.

Salesian College have been organizing this workshop every year for the past seventeen years.
