The Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF), Steering Committee Member Ajay Edwards today issued a press-release, confirming the GJM-GNLF collaboration for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
In his statement, Mr. Ajay Edwards has said, “for us, the interests of our people was most important.”
Hinting that the GJM-GNLF collaboration was a long-thought process, he said, “For the past one year, the Gorkha National Liberation Front has undertaken intensive introspection on the current status of our community, and the bleak future facing us. In all of our deliberations, we have been guided by a single political philosophy पार्टी भन्दा जाति ठुलो, जाति भन्दा माटो – put forward by our founder and our guiding light Shri. Subash Ghising. For GNLF the interests of our land and its people have always remained paramount.”
He added, “Therefore, in the overall interest of the Hill communities and the People living in the Terai and Dooars .The GNLF and GJMM have decided to come together for an electoral alliance, Forgiving and Forgetting the Past animosity for the greater interest of the people.”
“Our main goal is to ensure that the people from Hills, Terai and Dooars remain united,” said Ajay Ajay Edward.
Commenting on this development GNLF Spoksperson Dinesh Sampang Rai said, “गोरामुमोले आफ्नो मात्र सोच्ने भए त १ महिना अगाडि नै उम्मेदवारी दिने थियो. राजनीति पछि गर्दा पनि हुन्छ अहिले त जातिको एकताको खाचो छ. हामी सबै एक हुनु पर्छ”
