Jadav “Molai” Payeng is an environmental activist and forestry worker from Jorhat, India. Over the course of several decades, he has planted and tended trees on a sandbar of the river Brahmaputra turning it into a forest reserve. He is a recipient of Padma Shri for his tireless work towards protecting our environment.
He is coming to Darjeeling to celebrate World Earth Day, which is being organized tomorrow by Scavengers Darjeeling.
